MERCEDES BENZ CLASSIC CAR RALLY 2019: A CONVOY OF ELEGANCE

After an extended monsoon season, Mumbai was greeted with a pleasant sunny morning on the 10th of November. But that wasn’t the only treat for Mumbai’s residents. A convoy of immaculate and pristine Mercedes Benz cars of all shapes, sizes, makes, and colors elegantly rolled out on the streets of Mumbai as part of the Mercedes Benz Classic Car Rally 2019.
Organized first in 2014, the Mercedes Benz Classic Car Rally is a prestigious event and rightfully regarded as one of its kind in all of Asia. This edition, however, was a bit more special. 

Mercedes Benz commemorated their 25th year in the sub-continent and Autocar India celebrated their 20th anniversary.

                    Jaguar F-Type

 The restyling of the Jaguar F-Type has been unveiled, now with a more aggressive design with the new headlights and a wide range of engines including 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines: the 4-cylinder 2.0 with 300 hp, the V6 3.0 from  380 hp and the V8 5.0 supercharged by volumetric compressor with 450 hp that become 575 hp for the R version. The V8 can be combined with either rear-wheel drive or full-wheel drive while for 2.0 there is only rear-wheel drive.  The F-Type 2.0 four-cylinder accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds and reaches 250 km / h, while the F-Type R takes 3.7 seconds for 0-100 km / h and reaches 300  km / h.

                    LEXUS IS LATE TO THE GAME WITH THEIR FIRST EVER EV: THE UX 300E

Lexus has unveiled today that they will finally be hitting the EV market. It was unveiled at the Gunagzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China.

They have decided to make their UX compact SUV into an EV. The car is powered by a 54.3 kWh lithium ion battery producing 150 kW (201 horsepower) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. Not a horrible amount for the class. The range for the car is 400 kilometers (248 miles)

The battery is mounted under the floor of the car, making the center of gravity particularly low. Lexus claims that the cabin is the quietest in class. The 300e has a Drive Mode select function, and owners can shift through the gears with their floppy paddle gearbox. Lexus have added a feature called "Active Sound Control", which basically means they are putting in ambient sounds.
